Tom Dodson – Blackpool North Pier Painting, Pencil Signed, Fine Art Stamped

A wonderful opportunity to own a charming piece of Lancashire history by renowned local artist Tom Dodson (1910–1991).

This beautifully presented work depicts the world-famous North Pier, Blackpool, capturing the atmosphere of a bygone era with a horse and cart, people in period dress and the iconic pier in the background. The artwork is signed lower right and bears a Fine Arts embossed stamp to the lower left.

The colours are exceptionally bright and well preserved, having never been exposed to direct sunlight. It is nicely mounted and framed under glass, ready to hang and enjoy.

Tom Dodson was born in Salford in 1910, the eldest of five children in a working-class Lancashire family. From an early age he showed a remarkable talent for drawing. His Lancashire scenes of the 1920s and 1930s are particularly admired for their natural charm, humour and down-to-earth character, bringing everyday life in the North West vividly to life.

This is a good-sized piece, measuring approximately 67cm x 55cm, making it an impressive feature for a living room, hallway, office or collection.
