SKU: S621 Categories: ,

A superb Regency rosewood teapoy dating to circa 1820, with exceptional decorative detail and a wonderful original character.

The sarcophagus-shaped box is beautifully fitted with lion-head pull handles to either side, complemented by delicate boxwood inlay throughout. The interior is fitted with four original canisters, together with space for two glass mixing bowls, making this a particularly desirable and practical example of the period.

The box is raised on elegant curved supports with a central inlaid lower shelf, providing both additional support and an attractive decorative feature. The scrolled legs terminate in brass paw feet, standing on the original brass castors.

A highly decorative and impressive piece of Regency furniture, combining fine craftsmanship, elegant proportions and excellent period detailing.
