A Spectacular Quality Late 19th Century Walnut Antique Davenport Desk Circa 1870

Crocodile writing surface with tooled edge, the interior has several pigeon holes for storage, the side has four graduated drawers with original wooden pull handles, and four faux drawers on the opposite side, this stunning antique desk has elegant scrolled supports, stands on turned bun feet with original brass castors, the Walnut is a a golden shade with a striking grain with the most amazing inlay work, although Davenport's were quickly adopted as useful pieces of domestic furniture, providing a small desk with plenty of storage, it should not be forgotten that the design was first conceived by Gillows as a piece of portable furniture for Captain Davenport, the dimensions are 53cms wide 55cms deep standing 87cms tall, I am happy to deliver locally for a small fee, or arrange a courier nationally
